Alert: MPU Season 2 Sneak Peek: Nikki Is Surprised to Finally Meet Jason’s Military ‘Buddy’ (Exclusive)

The new addition to Alert: Missing Person Unit‘s titular crimesolving team is a blast from Jason’s past — and not at all what Nikki is expecting, as seen in TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek from the Fox drama’s Season 2 premiere (airing Tuesday at 9/8c).

For those who need a refresher: Set in the Philadelphia PD’s Missing Persons Unit (MPU), Fox’s Alert: Missing Persons Unit in each episode chronicles the life-or-death search for a missing person, headed by detectives Jason Grant and Nikki Batista (played by Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez). Once married, Jason and Nikki have a very personal connection to their cases seeing as their own young son went missing and was never found.

At MPU, Nikki leads a team that also includes Mike Sherman (Ryan Broussard, Only Murders In The Building), the fiancé with whom she is still planning a wedding, and Kemi Adebayo (Adeola Role, The Blacklist), a spiritually savvy detective. (Petey Gibson will return for at least one episode as forensic anthropologist C, TVLine hears.)

In the sneak peek above, and as previously reported by TVLine, Family Law alum Alisha-Marie Ahamed joins the mix in the series-regular role of Wayne Pascal, a master hacker with whom worked when he was over in Afghanistan. Thing is, Jason in all that time never told then-wife Nikki that “military buddy” Wayne was a beautiful woman. Oops.

Press play above to witness Nikki’s reaction to actually laying eyes on Wayne!

In other Season 2 casting news, Ally McBeal alum Gil Bellows (above) will heavily recur in the role of Inspector Hollis Braun, Nikki and Jason’s new superior who “has every intention of keeping their antics in line.”
