Al Roker didn't show up on the Today show. Roker fans wanted to make sure he's OK
Al Roker, America’s favorite weatherman, did not show up to work this week.
But he’s okay. Roker just took some time off. His Instagram feed includes several photos taken in Miami as he attends the Aspen Ideas: Climate event in Miami Beach.
Roker is the weatherman for the Today show, and many viewers across America admire his energy and spirit, making him part of their morning routines. So it can be a shock to the system when he's off the air for any period of time.

This week, he took some time off. Fans were wondering where he was and were worried about his whereabouts because of the number of times he didn’t show.
Roker took time off from "Today" during a health scare in 2022
Roker missed the 2022 Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day parade due to some health issues. Blood clots in his legs had reached his lungs, and he was admitted to the hospital that November. That was the first time he missed hosting the parade in 27 years.
Roker was still able to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family, but he returned to the hospital for internal bleeding, which had him missing the lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree. After discovering his health issues, Roker had to get surgery and take time to recover.
Getting back on his feet, Roker returned to host these events the following year. His colleagues and fans were elated to have him back.
