Akron Zips women's basketball caps season with MAC win at Central Michigan

Although the University of Akron failed to qualify for the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament, the Zips ended their season on a positive note with a 65-57 win at Central Michigan in MAC women's basketball Saturday.

The Zips (11-18, 6-12), who never trailed, led 12-7 at the end of the first quarter, 32-21 at halftime and 51-35 going into the fourth quarter.

Alexus Mobley led Akron with 23 points and eight rebounds, and Reagan Bass chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds.

Rochelle Norris had 18 points and six blocks for the Chippewas (6-22, 4-13).
