When Drake Milligan auditioned for season 17 of America's Got Talent, he had no idea that he would make it all the way to the top three. While the country singer didn't end up with the result he would've liked on the NBC series, he's not letting it stop him from building a career post-AGT.

Each week, he wowed the audience with energetic performances of his original music, even impressing the likes of judge Simon Cowell. Despite overwhelming support, he eventually came in third behind AGT winners Lebanese dance troupe The Mayyas and runner-up pole dancer Kristy Sellars. Most recently, the Texas native shared a personal thank you to his fans on Instagram. In the post, he also excitedly announced that one of his most popular songs made it on to the air waves.

"So excited to announce that 'Sounds Like Something I'd Do' is hitting country radio today!" he wrote on September 19. "Your support of this song so far has blown me away, so I hope you'll keep cranking it up. Let me know what station you hear it on!"

After seeing saw how Drake was keeping busy post-competition, AGT fans immediately showed their support for him on social media. Many expressed how thrilled they were about the next stage of his musical career.

"You are absolutely amazing and adorable! Your music is incredible! I’ve never been a fan of country before but you have made me a fan now!" one fan wrote in his Instagram comments section. "Listening up here in Canada 🇨🇦, I don’t really listen to radio anymore but I bought some of your songs for my MP3 player," another follower added. "I’m just glad you decided to go on AGT or it would have taken a lot longer for us to know who you are and to hear your awesome songs," a different person said.

Thankfully, this isn't the last of Drake in the spotlight. The singer will be heading out on tour for his first album, Dallas/Fort Worth. He's clearly feeling the love because he made sure to send a little note of gratitude on Instagram earlier in the week too.

"What a week, guys," he wrote on September 18. "I’ve got nothing left to say but THANK YOU."
