ASHLAND, Va. — Randolph Macon fumbled away Game 2 to Adrian College in the NCAA Division III Super Regional, but the Yellow Jackets recovered to eliminate the Bulldogs in Game 3.

RMC had a 4-3 lead in Game 2 in the bottom of the ninth where the Bulldogs had the bases loaded with two outs. AJ Miranda hit a shallow fly ball to right where the outfielder dropped the ball, allowing two to score for the 5-4 walk-off.

The Yellow Jackets shook it off and ran ahead of Adrian in Game 3 and held on for a 9-6 victory.

Onsted graduate Lincoln Lipinski got the win in Game 2 after escaping a jam in the limit the deficit to one run late for the Bulldogs. Jaxon Clark went 6.2 innings and gave up two runs, on four hits and a walk while striking out five.

In Game 3, Rogers had four hits with two doubles and four RBIs while David Kedrow and Miranda each had three hits. Daniel Gutierrez took the loss.

Adrian got an early lead in Game 1 Friday at Randolph Macon, but it slowly dwindled away before the Yellow Jackets rallied after a lengthy rain delay to get the win, 6-5.

The Bulldogs led 2-0 after the first, highlighted by an Ed Wagner RBI double before Jack Boike made it 3-0 with an RBI triple in the second. RMC cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the second and it remained until Davis drove in a run in the fifth and Rogers hit a sacrifice fly RBI in the sixth to go up 5-2.

The Yellow Jackets hit a two-run home run in the sixth and tied it up in the seventh before the rain came in for the eighth. Adrian threatened in the ninth with runners on first and second with one out, but a double play thwarted the chance before RMC loaded the bases with no outs and walked it off with a shot to the left field wall.

Wagner hit two doubles while AJ Miranda, Davis and Joe Casale all had two hits. Luc St. Antoine took the loss after Jakob Charles got the start, going 6.1 innings and giving up five runs, on six hits and a walk while striking out four.
