Addison Rae Channels the '80s in a Chic, Red-Hot Blazer and Skirt Set
Addison Rae is officially in her '80s era and she looks so good in shoulder pads and power suits.
The TikTok queen has proven in the past that she's a big fan of the '90s , rocking punk rock chain and leather chokers, poppin' graphic tanks, and oversized fuzzy bucket hats.
Of course, we can't forget her love affair with the '00s, which she pays tribute to with Y2K-inspired celebrity dolls and beaded zebra print, '00s style string bikinis. She's even pushed along the revival of the spandex headbands and short UGG boots trends alongside fellow street-style stars Megan Fox, Olivia Rodrigo, and Bella Hadid and starred in He's All That, a Netflix remake of 1999's She's All That film.
Addy has previously dipped into the '80s style pool before, wearing a Princess Diane-esque windbreaker to the gym, but now, she fully dove in with a chic, structured skirt and blazer.
Serving '80s businesswoman couture on the carpet of Hollywood Reporter's Women In Entertainment Gala in Los Angeles on December 7, Addison wore an archival Thierry Mugler skirt suit in the bright cherry red. The look features hallmarks of Mugler, including a sleek structured jacket with bold, padded shoulders, an asymmetrical neckline, a cinched-in waistline for a snatched look, and artistic silver drop buttons. A knee-length fitted pencil skirt in a matching crimson was paired with the blazer, as well as timeless black leather, pointed-toe heels. For makeup, the Item Beauty founder opted for a pinky-nude lip and rosy cheeks. Her hair was middle-parted into a low bun with a few face-framing tendrils left out.
ICYMI, Rae has been wearing lots of vintage gowns lately. Most recently, the starlet wore a plunging, beaded Jean Louis de Scherrer gown to the LACMA Art + Film Gala in November. She followed that look up with a futuristic, hooded Gareth Pugh dress to the CFDA Awards in New York. According to an interview with Vogue, vintage pieces are a key player in Addison's "new look," which departs from the more casual, athleisurewear styles that she's previously worn. "I enjoy imagining the journey the pieces have had," Addison said of her vintage wardrobe.
