Adam Weiner of Low Cut Connie to play Spring-Nuts Springsteen fans show at Monmouth U

Who's bossin' the keyboards at the Jersey Shore?

Adam Weiner, aka Low Cut Connie, will as he plays Saturday, Aug. 24, at Monmouth University’s Pollak Theatre. The concert is presented by the Spring-Nuts Springsteen fan club under the aegis of the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University.

The performance will take place amid the annual Spring-Nuts Seaside Serenade, which concludes Sunday, Aug. 25, at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park — an afternoon of Boss songs, sing-alongs and dancing.

Weiner, with founding E Street Band member Vini Lopez, performed a riveting version of “Incident on 57th Street” at the Springsteen Archives' 50th anniversary symposium for “The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle” on the Pollak's stage, located on the university's West Long Branch campus.

“Adam's 'Incident On 57th Street' is in my opinion one of the most beautiful covers of a Springsteen classic I have heard,” said Spring-Nuts founder Howie Chaz via email. “I’ve heard that from many Spring-Nuts who’ve heard or seen Adam cover that track with the legendary Mad Dog Vini Lopez.

"When you hear that kind of accolade from Spring-Nuts who are 'hard nuts to crack' (wink) when it comes to Springsteen covers, you know that you’ve done that masterpiece justice!”

The upcoming performance will include several Springsteen covers, Chaz said.

Tickets, $25, are available through the Monmouth University box office.

The Spring-Nuts Seaside Serenade will take place after the Springsteen and E Street Band concerts Wednesday, Aug. 21, and Friday, Aug. 23, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
