Andy Reid’s fictional brother, Randy, won’t be at Chiefs training camp this year, which should be a relief to the players.

Randy was known for trying to sell jet skis and offering unsolicited tips. But actor Eric Stonestreet, who portrayed Randy Reid, said Tuesday on “Good Morning Football,” that he won’t reprise the role.

Stonestreet, who grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and attended K-State, talked about his Chiefs fandom. He was asked specifically about his best memories about the Chiefs when he was younger.

“A couple things really stick out: Derrick Thomas setting the sack record. I was in 4-H — some of your viewers know what 4-H is — we were building a haunted house for our 4-H that year and I was listening to it on the radio, those sacks,” said Stonestreet, who starred on “Modern Family.” “And then side note: Coach (Andy) Heck, our offensive line coach, was the left tackle for the Seattle Seahawks. ...

“And then the other one is ‘Monday Night Football’ Joe Montana Willie Davis, beating the Broncos (in 1994). I was at the Pike House at K-State, we were all watching in the president’s office.”

Stonestreet also was asked about his “Big Slick” co-stars (David Koechner, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis and Rob Riggle) and who takes Chiefs losses the hardest.

Stonestreet said he did.

“As far as being hardcore, I mean, I’m a fan of football, right?” Stonestreet said. “I watch games that the Chiefs aren’t in. ...

“All of us are great fans though. You know we love the Chiefs and I don’t know what it is about it. ... I don’t know what it is about me as a grown man that anyone that straps on the Chiefs helmet, the Chiefs uniform, I’m a fan of. It’s weird that it’s so generational. It doesn’t matter. I’ve been a Joe Delaney fan and now I’m a Jerick McKinnon fan. I don’t know why that is, but I think it’s because of the game.”

Stonestreet talked a bit about former Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill and said: “Tyreek was incredible. I loved Tyreek Hill when Tyreek HIll was a Kansas City Chief. That was incredible, but all good things must come to an end. We wish him the best.

But he clearly can’t stop thinking about us. He’s constantly talking about us.”
