Aces of Trades: Kaylee Andrews' support systems allow her to give back to community

COSHOCTON – Her goal is to give back to her hometown.

“In my youth,” recalled Kaylee Andrews, “I was actively involved in 4-H, volleyball, and cheerleading. I was always very principled in my academics and loved numbers.”

Fast forward.

“My husband Calvin and I were living and working in Columbus,” Andrews continued. “I was working at Worthington Industries as a retail account lead. We were looking to move back to Coshocton to start a family. We are both born and raised in this community and wanted our children to have a similar upbringing while being close to family. Coshocton Regional Medical Center offered me a position as their financial analyst in the accounting department. The opportunity enabled us to move back to Coshocton and buy our first home. We’re blessed with two young boys that we’re raising in the same community that raised my husband and I.”

Today, Andrews is director of business development and marketing at Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

“I oversee,” she explained, “the hospital’s public relations and communications, marketing, business development, event planning, and community involvement.”

“You will likely see me at community events,” Andrews continued, “where we provide free first-aid services to local events or promoting our community outreach project called Fill-the-Backpack. I’ve had the pleasure of running this program since its inception in 2020. It provides every elementary student, roughly 3,500 students, in Coshocton County a backpack filled with core school supplies every year. Since the inception of this project, we will have distributed over 14,000 backpacks filled with school supplies as of this year. It’s a huge undertaking, but so rewarding. This project is very close to my heart and my hope is that it has made an impact to this community.”

There’s more. Andrews is also an active Kiwanis member and board member. And she serves on the board of directors of both Head Start and Coshocton Montessori.

Andrews was born and raised in Coshocton County. In fact, she was born at the hospital where she now works. She was raised in Keene, graduated from River View High School in 2006, then Kent State University with a degree in finance and a minor in business management. She worked in banking for years, as well as Worthington Industries, then came Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

“After working at Coshocton Regional Medical Center for four years,” she said, “I was approached by our senior leadership team to see if I would be interested in transitioning into the director position I’m in now. They mentored me and helped me to fully develop the role I have today.”

Stephanie Conn is chief executive officer of Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

“Kaylee is an integral member of our leadership team,” assessed Conn. “She has significantly elevated our marketing and business development efforts both internally and externally. Kaylee has done phenomenal work in cultivating relationships with community partners and further developed our facility’s efforts in strengthening our presence in the Coshocton community. She actively lives our mission at Coshocton Regional Medical Center to deliver compassionate, quality care to patients and better healthcare to our communities. We are deeply blessed to have her on our team.”

“Giving back to the community that raised me has always been my goal,” Andrews responded. “I’m so lucky to have support systems personally and professionally that have allowed me to do so. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the impact Coshocton had on me growing up and in my professional career.”
