Acclaimed French restaurant Fauborg to open a second location in this North Jersey town

Fans of high-end fare and skyline views are in for a serious treat as the team behind powerhouse local French restaurant Fauborg has announced the spot will be opening a second location in Weehawken.

Just one block from the Hudson riverfront, the new venture — which promises to be just as chic and convivial as its highly-decorated predecessor in Montclair — is slated to launch in the summer of 2024.

"NYC hospitality veterans Dominique Paulin and chef Olivier Muller will open a second Faubourg in Weehawken in summer 2024," the restaurant's PR team said. "Following the success of Faubourg in Montclair, the Daniel Boulud alums’ new venture intends on delivering a culinary experience with serious intent in a thoughtfully-designed setting."

Seasonally-inspired French fare to come to Weehawken

The menu to be offered at the second location will resemble the one in Montclair, with upscale French dishes, craft cocktails and seasonally-inspired entrées that are "refined, but approachable."

Some highlights from its sister restaurant — of which diners can expect eats of a similar quality — include ricotta agnolotti with artichoke, coq au vin and a "beef duo" of bavette and oxtail, to name a few.

As for the aesthetic of the new space, prospective guests will dine in a modern brasserie with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Snag a table outdoors? And they'll get partial sights of the New York City skyline.

A 'meticulously-planned,' trendy brasserie

"Every detail is meticulously planned to enhance guest experience and atmosphere," the team said. "The space is divided in three sections to create distinct experiences. The elongated main dining room is positioned in front of two unique focal points: an open kitchen and a grand 16-seat bar. Adjacent to the main dining room is an intimate cocktail lounge with ambient lighting and comfortable seating."

Combine that thoughtfully-designed atmosphere with the current Fauborg's consistent reputation as one of the best restaurants in New Jersey, and we expect the burgeoning new project to be a local culinary must-try.
