Accident investigation ongoing in truck-car crash in Valley Cottage

A truck driver and an infant passenger in a car were trapped in vehicles after an automobile crash on Route 303 in Valley Cottage Tuesday morning.

The Clarkstown Police Department said a box truck collided with a car headed south on Route 303 near the border of Valley Cottage and West Nyack around 9 a.m.

Police said the driver of the box truck had to be rescued by the Valley Cottage Fire Department.

It's unclear at this time if there are fatalities.

Police closed parts of Route 303 from the Valley Cottage Library to Storms Road while emergency officials attempted to rescue the infant and the driver.

Officials said the victims were removed from the crash by 9:30 a.m. and taken to local hospitals. An accident investigation is ongoing.
