These Are the Abortion Funds to Donate to ASAP

The Supreme Court officially overturned Roe v. Wade today, the landmark 1973 decision that protected a person’s right to abortion. The court also struck down the 1992 decision made in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which upheld the constitutional right to abortion and established an “undue burden” standard for laws that seek to undermine a human’s right to bodily autonomy. The final decision comes just a few weeks after a draft of the decision was leaked by Politico.

Now that Roe v. Wade is overturned, the 13 states that have trigger laws are able to automatically outlaw abortion. If you’re feeling angry or terrified and want to channel those emotions into some form of action, donate to an on-the-ground abortion fund that is working to ensure access to safe abortions. Many of these funds help pay for the costs associated with abortion, including travel, which can be a significant barrier to abortion care.

Below, we’ve rounded up state and national abortion funds that you can donate to now, but this is by no means an exhaustive list. Find more through the National Network of Abortion Funds, and if you can't decide on just one fund to give to, you can donate through ActBlue, which will divide your donation among 29 organizations—including some of the ones listed below.
