Aaron Rodgers Reveals When His Issues With Green Bay Started

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers spoke to the media for the first time this training camp, as he was honest about the drama that unfolded this offseason and what truly went down behind the scenes.

At one point during his press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Rodgers revealed when he started having issues with the organization.

“This wasn’t a draft day thing,” Rodgers said. “It started with a conversation in February. I just expressed my desire to be involved in conversations directly affecting my job.”

Rodgers also brought up a particular scenario where he wished the front office came to him for his opinion.

Last offseason, the Packers released Jake Kumerow without letting Rodgers know. That rubbed the reigning MVP the wrong way, as he told reporters “If you’re going to cut a guy who was our second-best wide receiver in training camp last year, maybe run it by me.”

Rodgers believes he should have a little more input when it comes to certain personnel decisions.

Despite all the drama that took place this offseason, Rodgers confirmed that he wants to play for the Packers.

“I do,” Rodgers said when asked if he wants to be in Green Bay. “I love my teammates, I love the city, I love my coaches.”

This could be the final year that Rodgers suits up for the Packers. For now, he seems focused on winning a second Super Bowl for the franchise.
