One of Aaron Rodgers‘ former Green Bay Packers teammates has a blunt suggestion for the superstar quarterback.

Rodgers has been away from the Packers as he continues to want a trade away from the franchise. The MVP quarterback explained to Kenny Mayne why he’s frustrated with the only franchise he’s ever played for.

“With my situation, look it’s never been about the draft pick, picking Jordan,” Rodgers told Mayne, via ESPN. “I love Jordan; he’s a great kid. [We’ve had] a lot of fun to work together. Love the coaching staff, love my teammates, love the fan base in Green Bay. An incredible 16 years. It’s just kind of about a philosophy and maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go. It’s about character, it’s about culture, it’s about doing things the right way.”

It remains to be seen if the situation will get worked out, though one former Packers player is hoping it doesn’t.

Jamaal Williams, a running back who played for the Packers from 2017-20, is hoping it doesn’t. That’s because Williams is now in Detroit.

“Shoot, I love 12,” Williams said, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “I just want him just to be happy, live his life and do what he needs to do. But for the Lions, for my team and everything, uh, yeah, go ahead and just stay out for a minute. Let us go ahead and get loose. I mean, you know, we’ll go against him, too, but make it easier for us.“

It certainly would make it easier for the NFC North if Rodgers is traded away – and out of the division. However, Williams added that he just wants Rodgers to be happy.

“But I wish him the best,” Williams said. “That’s my boy and I just want him to do whatever makes him happy.”

Of course, the Lions would probably be very happy if Rodgers is traded away. Few quarterbacks in NFL history have dominated an opposing team as much as Rodgers has dominated the Lions.
