87-year-old Oakland County woman wins $682,784 lottery prize
An 87-year-old Oakland County woman recently kept some big lottery news from her family for several weeks.
Her secret?
That she had won $682,784 on a Michigan Lottery Jumbo Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket.
“I play Fast Cash once a week,” the woman, who chose to remain anonymous told the Michigan Lottery. “Right after I bought the ticket, I looked it over and saw three jackpot symbols. I knew what I was seeing, but I didn’t believe it. I had a friend look the ticket over, and he confirmed I wasn’t seeing things and really did win the jackpot!
“I had a hard time believing I’d really won, so I kept it to myself for a while. After a few weeks, I finally told my family. They couldn’t believe that I was able to keep it a secret for so long and were ecstatic!”
She purchased her ticket Dec. 30 at the Square Lake Marathon gas station located at 5977 Livernois Road in Troy.
The woman recently claimed her prize and plans to use the money to complete home improvements and invest.
