Rambo’s Fat Cat Biscuits

This locally-owned business is operated by a husband and wife team, Renee and Todd Adams. Rambo’s opened its doors in November of 2020. You can also find them at their regular booth at the Soda City Market on Main Street every Saturday.

As one would expect from the name, the eatery offers a variety of biscuits, from seasonal selections to regular standbys, such as the friend chicken biscuit, the brisket biscuit or the Chipotle Pimento cheese and sausage biscuit. The also offer a selection of sides, including blue corn grits with Pimento cheese.

Cafe Strudel West Columbia

Location: 300 State Street, West Columbia

Cafe Strudel opened its doors on Oct. 3 1997 in a small, 600 square-foot spot with 10 tables. The restaurant quickly outgrew its surroundings and and in 2000 quadrupled its space in a new location. It then moved into its current even larger, renovated location in 2012.

Cafe Strudel offers a wealth of breakfast options, from omelets and steak and eggs, to pancakes, French toast and breakfast burgers.

Maple Street Biscuit Company

Location: 18 E North St., Greenville

Based in Tennessee, Maple Street Biscuit was founded in 2012 and has locations in nine states. The Greenville location is nestled in the downtown area.

There’s plenty of biscuit options to choose from, but there’s also waffles and an item called a frittaffle, which is a cast-iron baked omelet, with your choice of sausage or bacon, cheddar and crispy potatoes.

There’s also plenty of mimosas and different coffee options to try.

Biscuit Head

Husband and wife team Jason and Carolyn Roy opened the first Biscuit Head in Asheville, North Carolina. The business has been expanding in the Asheville and Greenville areas ever since.

Millers All Day

Early Bird Diner

National House of Pancakes

Johnny D’s Waffles in Myrtle Beach

Chef Jamie Daskalis opened the Johnny D’s Myrtle Beach location after growing up and living in New York. She worked in the restaurant business for 20 years with her father and is a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America.

Johnny D’s has a wide selection of waffles, including a cinnaroll waffle, a red velvet waffle and even a banana split waffle.

Customers can also choose from a healthy selection of omelettes eggs benedicts. There’s also breakfast meals for those who are extra hungry, such as the aptly named Hungry Man — an 8-ounce iron steak with two eggs, served with home fries and a choice of pancakes or toast.
