I've tried many bodysuits in my day, and I'll be the first to tell you that, like shopping for the best white t-shirts, not all are created equal. Where some are super smoothing, soft, flattering, and durable, others are inconvenient, baggy, tight, and clingy. But, when you find some that are right for you, they're great to have on-hand, as they're super easy to throw on to help you look smooth and contoured. That said, we've created an editor-tested list of all the best options that do just that. Every option on the below list has been personally tried and reviewed not only by WH fashion editors, but also by three professional stylists.

Best Body Suits For Women

One piece of advice when shopping for a bodysuit: always prioritize comfort. "Ensure that your bodysuit has adjustable straps and a snap closure at the crotch for easy wear and convenience," says fashion stylist LaTressa J. Miller. She also tells us that the perfect bodysuit should be snug, but not restrictive like a one-piece swimsuit. There's nothing worse that a bodysuit that looks too baggy. "It should enhance your natural shape without feeling like it’s cutting into your skin," Miller notes. You also want to find one that pairs with many different bottoms, including travel pants or jeans.

To save you some time trying on endless bodysuits, the following list features some of the best options you should shop right now, according to input from stylists and real testing notes from our own WH editors.

According to Miller, you want to make sure the materials your bodysuit is made from are breathable, stretchy, and high quality. "Fabrics like cotton blends or seamless microfiber win in the comfort and durability area," she says. Most options on this list are made from polyester, nylon, and elastane, which give the bodysuits a nice, soft feel and add a little bit of stretch so they don't feel so tight.

Sizes

Miller offers some solid advice on what to look for when shopping for a bodysuit: "Always check the size guide and consider sizing up if you’re between sizes, especially if you want a more comfortable fit." If you want a more contoured fit, we recommend opting for your typical size, as bodysuits usually run a bit tighter anyways. How we chose

For the past few months, Women’s Health commerce editors have vetted the bestselling, top-rated bodysuits for women. We consulted our wider editorial team and three stylists for their opinions. Then, we tried them all across different activities—through errands on hot days, long walks, brunch, fancy dinners, and everywhere in-between—and considered their performance. We looked for bodysuits that have the right amount of stretch, don't feel too compressive, look flattering. These bodysuits made the cut across materials, sizes, and colors.

Ballet Racerback Thong Bodysuit

Many stylists agree: Commando makes some of the best bodysuits around. Why? They're smooth and seamless, the fabric is soft yet firm, and they come in a whole bunch of different styles we love. However, this Ballet Racerback Thong Bodysuit trumps the rest. In fact, we decided that this is the best bodysuit on this entire list after weeks of testing.

We love that It offers endless styling opportunities. "It features a flattering racerback detail and a seamless, tucked in fit for versatility," says Brenda Cooper, fashion stylist and Emmy Award-winning costume designer. Miller is also a fan of the brand because of the body-hugging, seamless fabric, but she does wish that its bodysuits came in a wider variety of colors.

The shape that this bodysuit offers also get a solid five stars. It's totally seamless and forms to the body. Plus, we love that it has a high-neck style. In other words, it makes your body look bangin', and you can also wear it to more formal events like dinner or even the office if you want to look put-together without showing too much skin.

We prefer thong bodysuits as they don't show visible panty lines. Even though this one has a cheeky fit, the super seamless fabric makes it look like nothing under your clothes. Plus, the fabric makes the booty look nice and perky.

Our one qualm? This body suit is one-size-fits-all, so if you're super petite or curvy, it might not be the best option for you on this list. However, it is super stretchy, so we recommend giving it a try and seeing if it fits your body shape. It definitely gets up there in terms of $$$, but we deem it worth it because of the high-quality, flattering fabric and the high-neck design that looks great on all body types.

Square Neck Thong Bodysuit

It gives us a bit of peace knowing we don't have to spend a pretty penny to find a high-quality bodysuit. Example A: this sculpting bodysuit from Suukes, which comes highly recommended by Cooper. It's made of 76 percent polyamide and 24 percent elastane, which is the exact fabric and quantity that popular brands use for many of their bodysuits (talk about a dupe!). When testing this bodysuit, we thought that it felt exactly the same as that bodysuit brand that everyone knows about, just without the heftier price tag. It's buttery-soft, super stretchy, and flattering all at the same time.

This is one of the only bodysuits on this list that features adjustable spaghetti straps, making it super customizable to wear with anything you want. Plus, the straps and the high-cut leg are awesome for super hot summer days when you don't want to feel too covered.

This bodysuit features a thong on the bottom, so there are no panty lines in sight, making it great for wearing under jeans or tighter pants like leggings. Plus, the gusset has three adjustable hooks, so snapping this top on and off is super fast and easy.

We did notice that, depending on the color, the sizes can differ. This made finding the right size tricky.

Wolford Viscose String Body For Women

I'll address the elephant in the room before we get into this product—it's def pricey. But we will be the first to tell you that it is worth it. Another pick recommended by Cooper, we love this turtleneck bodysuit because it's made with luxurious fabric—hi, modal and polyamide—that feels amazing against the skin.

And, unlike others on this list, it has a super flattering turtleneck design that looks adorable layered under sweaters in the winter or worn alone or under a linen shirt in the spring and summer.

We also love that this bodysuit features a thong, which makes it look super seamless under clothing. Another pro? The thong has two buttons at the gusset, allowing for easy on-and-off removal.

Our two cons for this option? "The higher price point might not be ideal for everyone, and the thong style might not be comfortable for all-day wear for some," says Miller. Although, she does say this is one of her favorites on this entire list. We also think that this body suit is more suitable for petite people, as the sizing only goes up to a large.

Crepe Asymmetrical One-Shoulder Bodysuit

Joana Walker, writer and fashion expert at fashion brand Mario Page, says that over the years, Abercrombie has perfected its bodysuits. Now, they're some of the only pieces she wears.

Walker points to this option in particular, which is a bit pricer, but she says it's worth the higher number. She tells us that Abercrombie did not overlook the importance of using natural, breathable fabrics in this bodysuit, which is why it feels so nice and durable. With this bodysuit, the brand used 92 percent polyester and eight percent elastane for that smoothness in the body of the piece, as well as 95 percent cotton and five percent elastane in the crotch liner to make it breathable.

WH assistant fashion editor Rose Lauture is also a fan of Abercrombie bodysuits. "They are all so comfortable, soft, and flattering," she says, adding that the one-shoulder style is her go-to for a night out or dinner.

Although this body suit only comes in black, Walker says that she actually thinks the limited color choice was a good idea. "Other colors wouldn't match the fancier look of this bodysuit," she says. However, one thing she would change is the size range, as it doesn't reach further than an XL. This fact knocked this bodysuit down a few points in our book.

Brief Bodysuit

Miller tells us that her number-one pick on her list is this Brief Bodysuit from Skims, and there's no questioning why. "It provides fantastic support and sculpting, making it a great foundation piece under any outfit," she says. Although you might be afraid of the full-coverage bottoms, the seamless fabric makes it not stand out. Plus, if you're not a thong-wearer, this one is for you!

We found this bodysuit to be super comfortable because the nylon and elastane fabric is so soft. "It also comes in a variety of different skin colors and tones, which is a big plus," adds Miller.

Another positive? This is one of the most size-inclusive options on this list, as the sizes range from size XXS to 4X. And the amount of skin-colored options help too. If you're looking for something with fun, bright colors, however, this is not the pick for you. Skims' invisible-looking bodysuits are made to match your skin tone for layering and shaping purposes.

Miller does note that, while it's great for shaping, it can feel a bit tight for all-day wear. She wishes it was a bit more breathable for extended comfort. However, the brand does suggest opting for a size up if you want it to feel slightly looser.

Contour Whitney Bodysuit

I love the bodysuits from Aritzia because they're so soft, and WH executive fashion director Kristen Saladino agrees. This long sleeve option in particular is made with 94 percent nylon, so you can rely on its softness, and six percent elastane, so you have some stretch, too.

And don't be fooled—although it has sleeves, that doesn't mean it's not suitable for the summer months. It's actually super lightweight and airy, so I've worn it with shorts and cowboy boots or even long skirts through the summer. However, it still has a tighter, more supportive fit, thanks to the brand's unique Contour fabric, to keep you looking snatched.

If you're more petite, this is a great pick for you, as this bodysuit gets all the way down to a size 2XS.

This option has a thong-cut bottom, which we love because we can wear it with everything. However, we do find that this bodysuit feels a bit too tight *down there* due to the more constrictive fabric.

Scuba Deep V Tank Bodysuit

If you're looking for something that shows a bit of skin, look no further than Good American's Deep V Tank Bodysuit. Not only does it make the girls look super perky, but it also hugs and flatters your curves with high-quality fabric that's designed to sculpt and smooth no matter your size.

We love that this option has wide shoulder straps for a more elevated look. If you need to wear a bra—we recommend a plunge bra—your straps won't be poking out, which we love. You can wear this paired with jeans, shorts or trousers on a night out or on a warmer day where you don't require excess fabric. However, this probs isn't your best option for the office.

Mock Turtleneck Tank Top

We said it once and we'll say it again: You don't have to break the bank to find an adorable bodysuit. According to Cooper, Nasparee is a great brand available on Amazon, and it's a must buy for only $15.

"The fabric has a luxury feel on the skin and it's super soft and stretchy with great rebound," she says. Plus, Cooper adds that, in her experience, this bodysuit washes well and never looks like it's been through the ringer. It doesn't wrinkle, so it's a great option if you're heading on vacation and want to bring easy breezy clothes. Another pro? It has the most color options out of all the picks on this list, with 26 options available for purchase.

We did find that this bodysuit is a bit tight around the bust, so if you have a bigger chest, you may want to size up. But, that shouldn't be a problem since there are a wide variety of sizes to choose from (big ups!).
