The ’70s live on in this quirky waterfront house for sale in Texas. Check it out

Screen grab from Zillow

A technicolor throwback of a house has listed on the real estate market in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, for $12.99 million and some folks are a little, well, confused by its wild interior.

The six-bedroom, nine-bathroom home has some pretty interesting looks that stretch across its 10,521 square feet that appear to have been yanked from multiple time eras, including the 1970s.

“Nestled on a meticulously landscaped lot on a private cul-de-sac within the gates of exclusive Applehead Island, this exceptional Horseshoe Bay waterfront estate blends magnificent design with unobstructed Lake LBJ views to create a once-in-a-lifetime retreat,” the listing on Zillow.com says.

Elegant features include:

  • Sweeping views

  • Open floor plan

  • Fireplace

  • “Vaulted, wood-plank ceiling” in the living room

  • Primary suite private patio

  • Bar

  • Wine cellar

  • Double-island kitchen

  • “Multiple covered patios”

The whimsical decor is what charmed fans of Friday Night Zillow, a Twitter segment done by Bloomberg journalist Steven Dennis.

“Sometimes rich people have inexplicable decor,” Dennis tweeted. “This is one of those times. $12.995M. Texas. Going to need some help on this one.”

“So much going on here. The Blues Brothers. A red piano. A too-high-back chair. Some Urns of the Gods. And that’s just for starters.”

He also pointed out more specifics in a photo tour of the property.

The listing is held by Shirl Thornton of RE/MAX Horseshoe Bay Resort SA.

Horseshoe Bay is about 55 miles northwest of Austin.
