Here are the Peoria-area Class 1A and 2A baseball teams that advanced from the Illinois High School Association regional title games on Saturday.

CLASS 1A

Illini Bluffs

  • How they won: Illini Bluffs got all the runs it needed in the third, beating host United 2-1 in Saturday's regional championship game. The Tigers (15-6) are in the sectional for a seventh successive season, looking for their first sectional crown since 2019. Ian O'Connor's single plated Grant Cruit and Will Giftos, who scored on an error. Bradley recruit Josh Vaughn did the rest. The senior pitcher struck out 18, walked one and gave up a single hit in facing two over the minimum.

  • What's next: Illini Bluffs faces Jacksonville Rout (29-7) at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Mendon Unity Sectional semifinal.

Delavan

  • How they won: Cole Noreuil and Bryson Horning combined on a no-hitter as Delavan beat Havana 6-0 in Saturday's regional championship game. The Panthers (17-7-1) are back in the sectional for a sixth consecutive season, looking for the program's first-ever Elite Eight trip. Noreuil pitched the first 5.2 innings, striking out 17 and walking one, while Horning picked up the four-out save with two strikeouts. Horning helped his cause with a second-inning grand slam as part of a four-hit inning.

  • What's next: Delavan faces Bluffs/Winchester at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Mendon Unity Sectional semifinal.

St. Bede

  • How they won: Host St. Bede got all the scoring it needed in the first inning en route to an 11-2 win over Ridgewood in the regional title game. The Bruins (20-14) won their first regional since 2021 and 23rd in program history. Four walks, then a hit-by-pitch to the start the game scored Ryan Slingsby and Gus Burr. Gino Ferrari's infield single and a run-scoring lineout from Carson Riva gave St. Bede its runs. Alex Ankiewicz picked up the win, scattering two hits and striking out three.

  • What's next: St. Bede faces Heyworth (16-17) at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Bloomington Sectional semifinal.

Annawan/Wethersfield

  • How they won: The host Titans pounded out 12 hits and got a no-hitter in beating ROWVA/Williamsfield, 15-0 in four innings on Saturday. A/W (18-6-1) are back-to-back regional champs for just the third time in program history. Colin Hornback pitched the no-no, striking out seven, walking one and hitting a batter. He was helped by Caleb McGill's three-RBI day; Maddux Heitzler also drove in three runs. Kellan Keane went 3-for-4 as the Titans scored six runs in the third.

  • What's next: A/W faces Dwight (24-10) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Bloomington Sectional semifinal.

CLASS 2A

Peoria Notre Dame

  • How they won: Thanks to a big sixth-inning home run host Peoria Notre Dame ended a 10-year regional title drought with a 4-3 win over Canton Saturday. The Irish (20-10) find themselves in the sectional for the first time since a 2014 Class 3A appearance. Junior catcher Lawson Alwan (2-for-4), who was hitting out of the two spot, blasted a two-run homer with one out in the sixth, giving PND a lasting lead. Jack Livengood closed the door in the seventh with a 1-2-3 frame, striking out the final two batters.

  • What's next: Peoria Notre Dame faces Hall (20-9) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chillicothe Sectional semifinal.

Illini West

  • How they won: Host Illini West posted a regional title game shutout on Saturday, beating Macomb, 5-0. The Chargers (27-4) ended a six-season absence from the sectional level. Ethan Carlisle (four strikeouts in six innings and Reece Shoup (a flawless seven inning) teamed up to toss a three-hitter for IW, which was a fifth seed in the regional. Carlisle helped himself out by driving in a pair of runs.

  • What's next: Illini West faces Taylor Ridge Rockridge (14-16) at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Chillicothe Sectional semifinal.

Hall

  • How they won: Host Hall picked up back-to-back regional titles in knocking off Illinois Valley Central 8-4 on Saturday. The Red Devils (20-9), who are six years removed from winning the 2018 Class 2A state title, made an Elite Eight appearance last season. Hall scored all of its runs from the second to the fourth innings, including a five-run second inning. Max Bryant and Payton Dye combined for eight strikeouts with seven hits and five walks. Jack Jablonski drove in two runs.

  • What's next: Hall faces Peoria Notre Dame (20-10) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chillicothe Sectional semifinal.
