7 of NFL's biggest tailgate groups to host party at draft in Detroit

As Detroit welcomes the 2024 NFL draft, a tailgating party will bring together fans from across the country to the city on Friday.

Organized by a coalition of seven tailgating groups, the event will feature tailgaters from Cleveland, Cincinnati, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and Tampa, Florida. Locally, the Blue Crew, a Detroit Lions tailgating group, stands among the organizers. The Detroit group was previously featured in a documentary for their local tailgating traditions.

The event will feature live entertainment, local food and beverage vendors and tailgate games. Food will include a buffet catered by Detroit BBQ Co., donations from the Rubber Duck Bar, and more, and drinks including soft drinks and beer, with alcoholic beverages from Atwater Brewery and El Bandido Yankee.

Donation prices for the event are $100 on Thursday through Friday, including at the door. Parking, limited to 19 spots, will be $150.

Proceeds will be donated to Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, a local Christian nonprofit.

The Superfan Summit tailgate party will be held at 1000 Gratiot Ave. in Detroit from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday.
