Steer Clear Of These At All Costs.

Starbucks will get you if you go to grab an (overpriced) caffeinated beverage or snack without a fortified game plan. Seriously, some of the drinks that Starbucks is churning out and marketing as a wake-up kind of beverage are packed with enough sugar to momentarily pry your eyes open, only to then leave you in a hopeless mess of a sugar crashed out and completely over it state of body and mind.

Read up on the Starbucks drinks and food items that you should never catch yourself ordering when you know what's good for you.

White Chocolate Mocha

Seemingly innocent enough when taken at surface level. When you order yourself up a mocha, you know that the drink might be a bit rich, but otherwise you wouldn't assume that it'd come with truly obnoxious amounts of sugar. Well, Starbucks' White Chocolate Mocha comes with 53 grams of sugar per grande-sized cup and 240 more calories than a bottle of Cola.

Java Chip Frappuccino

Honestly though, Frappuccino's have a well-earned, well-established reputation for being partially frozen creations of terribly sugary proportions. So, it should come as no surprise that Starbucks brought their "A" game when it came to sugar content for one of their most infamous Frappuccinos.

A grande Java Chip Frappuccino with 2% milk and whipped cream has 460 calories, 17 grams of fat, 270 mg of sodium, 66 grams of sugar, and other unhealthy ingredients like palm oil and potassium sorbate. Maybe it's all good though because they also have 6 grams of protein?

Hot Chocolate

Yeah, this one hurts just a little bit. It is the season for hot chocolates. We're all supposed to be feel warm, bubbly, and brimming with glowing holiday cheer right? Well Starbucks is making that difficult by serving up grande sized hot chocolates with whipped cream that end up packing in a half of a day's worth of saturated fat in them. That's practically a meal right there.

Double-Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Egg Sandwich

There are those vulnerable mornings where you wake with the kind of mad-eyed hunger that has you feeling like you spent each moment of your dreaming state wrestling a grizzly bear or something. Resist the urge to cave for one of these Starbucks breakfast sandwiches.

They have a villainous amount of artery-clogging, saturated fat, and blood-pressure-spiking sodium. You should also take note that with bacon being processed with sodium nitrate, it's particularly unhealthy. Delicious, but risky.

Ancho Chipotle Chicken Panini

For some reason, the name of this food item off Starbucks' menu sounds reasonably healthy, but it's completely misleading you. This panini somehow has 11 more grams of carbs and 80 more milligrams of sodium than a Big Mac. Let that settle for a second. That "fun fact" should be more than enough to not commit to this panini.
