5 Kentuckians, including Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers, nominated for Grammy Awards

Four country music artists and one author from the area have been nominated for a host of Grammy Awards.

Lawrence County native Tyler Childers leads the way for the Kentucky nominees, receiving five 2024 Grammy nominations, including Best Country Solo Performance for "In Your Love," Best Country Song for "In Your Love," Best Country Album for "Rustin' in the Rain," Best Americana Performance for "Help Me Make It Through the Night," and Best Music Video for "In Your Love."

Author Silas House, a Corbin, Kentucky native best known for books such as "Lark Ascending," and "Southernmost," also received a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video for Childers' "In Your Love," in which he's credited as a video producer.

"You all. Wow. Never thought I'd be a Grammy finalist," House wrote in a Facebook post. "This project ('In Your Love') was special from the beginning and we all knew it as we were working on it."

Staffordsville, Kentucky native Chris Stapleton, fresh of his seventh Male Vocalist of the Year award at the CMA Awards earlier this week, has been nominated for three Grammys, including Best Country Solo for "White Horse," Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "We Don't Fight Anymore," alongside fellow Kentuckian Carly Pearce, and Best Country Song, for "White Horse."

Stapleton has previously won eight Grammy Awards, and Pearce, a Taylor Mill native, has won one.

Shane McAnally, who was nominated for Song Writer of the Year, is credited with writing "We Don't Fight Anymore," featuring Pearce and Stapleton.

And from across the river, Charlestown, Indiana native and Grammy Award winner Michael Cleveland was also nominated for Best Bluegrass Album, for "Lovin' Of The Game."

Three new categories will debut at the 2024 awards, including Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording. These category additions are part of a larger set of updates aimed at making the Grammy Awards process "more fair, transparent and accurate," according to Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr.

The 2024 Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, Feb. 4, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The 66th annual awards show will air live from 8-11:30 p.m. on CBS and will stream on Paramount+.
