Here are the best weekends of the year to shop at Aldi if you want to score some great deals.
Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day is a popular time to shop since many stores, including Aldi, have deals on their stock. And since this holiday is right around the corner — May 27 — now’s a good time to shop.
“Memorial Day is definitely a great day to shop at Aldi. You’ll find plenty of food and other deals related to outdoor celebrations,” said David Bakke, Aldi shopper and budgeting pro at DollarSanity. “Check them out because the pricing is second to none compared to other grocers, even on Memorial Day Weekend.”
The selection depends on your location, but you can often find great deals around this time of the year on things like ribs, chicken, beef, cornbread, salads and coleslaw at Aldi. Just be aware that other shoppers are going to have the same idea as you, so go early to avoid some of the crowds.

Labor Day Weekend
“Labor Day is another stellar weekend for Aldi buys because it’s directed towards [the] outdoors and cooking,” Bakke said. “Think food but also party supplies as well. They’ll hook you up because I’ve gotten these deals personally.”
If you’re shopping online, check out Aldi’s “Outdoor Living & Garden” section. The store sells solar-powered garden stakes, folding chairs, raised planters, barbecue tool sets and grilling supplies, and simple outdoor furniture at reasonable prices.
Black Friday Weekend
“The best weekends to shop at Aldi are typically tied to major sales events and holidays, including Black Friday,” said Andrew Latham, CFP at SuperMoney.
Black Friday deals often start before Thanksgiving, but you’re also likely to find deals throughout the entire weekend — all the way to Monday. Many things go on sale around this time, including electronics, household items and kitchen gadgets.
Aldi might not have the largest selection of electronics, but there are still a few items to check out. For example, you might be able to find affordable box fans, batteries, USB-C cords and other small items in stores and online.
As for household items, you might find lower prices on things like laundry detergent, paper towels, multipurpose cleaners, candles and basic furniture. But again, this particular weekend can be quite crowded and the best deals tend to sell out quickly, so go early and with a clear plan in mind of what you need.
Other Major Holiday Weekends
Other weekends that are worth shopping at Aldi for the best deals include Easter and the Fourth of July. Just know that the sales themselves will be heavily based on the time of year and any major events going on at that time.
As an example, Latham said the Fourth of July usually has lower prices on party supplies, summer essentials and barbecue foods. Easter, meanwhile, may have sales on seasonal produce, candies and holiday items.
You also can plan your shopping trip around back-to-school sales, which generally start in the latter part of the summer or very early fall — or when the seasons start to change.
“Aldi has lots of seasonal items,” said Todd Stearn, founder and CEO of The Money Manual. “Think weekends early in August for back-to-school supplies, the last weekend in April for summer toys and accessories, the weekend after Christmas for discounted holiday decor.”
Weekends With Specific ‘Aldi Finds’ Deals
You don’t necessarily have to shop on specific weekends to get some great deals at Aldi. The store generally offers discounts on Sundays, according to Food Network. This could be due to the fact that Aldi tends to restock its selection on Wednesdays and wants to start clearing out some of its old items before then.
