The 48 players picked for the 2024 McDonald's All-American high school basketball games
No Illinois prep players were selected to the 2024 McDonald's All-American game, but one athlete headed to the University of Illinois got the call.
The rosters for the annual high school basketball games released the boys and girls rosters Tuesday afternoon on ESPN. None of the three Peoria-area nominees — Aaliyah Guyton (Peoria High), Lathan Sommerville (Richwoods) or Cooper Koch (Metamora) — made either of the 24-player rosters for the games on April 2 at the Toyota Center in Houston.

Guyton was among the 18 girl nominees from Illinois, which had a dozen boys nominees including Sommerville and Koch.
Illinois women's recruit Berry Wallace of Pickerington Central (Ohio) gives the Fighting Illini their first McDonald's All-American since 2014.
Peoria has had six previous McDonald's All-Americans: Howard Nathan (1991), Mike Robinson (1996), Marcus Griffin (1997), Frank Williams (1998), Britney Jordan (2003) and Shaun Livingston (2004).
