Puyallup Police closed an intersection Sunday afternoon after an SUV struck a minivan and two other vehicles.

The incident occurred about 5:15 p.m. Nov. 20 at the intersection of Ninth Street Southwest and 39th Avenue Southwest. Police spokesperson Ryan Portmann said no one was injured.

A Chevy Trailblazer was driving south on Ninth Street Southwest while a Toyota Sienna was facing north, preparing to turn left onto 39th Avenue Southwest. The minivan failed to yield and the SUV hit it, according to police. That caused the vehicles to collide with a Subaru Crosstrek and Nissan Altima.

All vehicles involved in the accident had extensive damage and weren’t drivable, Portmann said. The intersection was reopened within a few hours.

Portmann said the police report about the crash identified four vehicles, not five. The police department posted on social media Sunday afternoon that it was a five-car wreck.
