Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship feels straight out of a romance novel.
After the Chiefs defeated the Ravens in the AFC Championship game last weekend, Swift went down onto the field to celebrate with her boyfriend. The two kissed, hugged, and their love was on display for the world to see. Soon, it was all the internet could talk about, replaying videos of them endlessly and speculating on whether or not Swift will make it to Vegas from her Eras Tour stop in Tokyo in time for the Super Bowl.
If you're looking to capture the feelings of this romance, but in fictional form, the sports romance genre has you covered. "What I love about sports romance is that it allows for the world-building and stakes of fantasy romance slotted into a (usually) contemporary setting," romance author KD Casey tells Town & Country. "We get rivalries, we get camaraderie, we get kissing (and more than kissing). Sports offer both uncertainty—how long can an athlete actually compete for?—and the chance, however slim, at something enduring. Which is the same as romantic love, when you really think about it."
Here, 21 sports romance novels (featuring a Happily Ever After, and some sport—not necessarily football) for all the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce fans:
