Porsche's New Cayenne GTS Is Fast, Low, and SleekPorsche

Side-by-side with BMW's X5, the Porsche Cayenne was one of the catalysts for the performance SUV revolution of the 21st century, offering dynamics, speed, and comfort all at once. Selling over 20,000 Cayenne units in the U.S. last year, Porsche has the performance SUV recipe nearly perfected at this point, but the folks in Stuttgart think there is always room for improvement.

The 2025 Cayenne GTS is a prime example of that meticulous Porsche character. Following up on a full model lineup facelift last year, Porsche is revamping its top-end GTS trim for 2025. In observance of its Gran Turismo Sport badge, the majority of changes are focused on performance.

Riding on GTS-specific air suspension, Porsche has equipped the 2025 Cayenne GTS with Porsche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. The new GTS model also drops 10 millimeters of ride height compared to other Cayenne models. Beyond electronic systems, Porsche has fitted the Cayenne GTS with pivot bearings at the front axle from the Cayenne Turbo GT, allowing an additional 0.58 degrees of negative camber up front.

Power is up, too, with 493 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque sent to all four wheels from Porsche's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8. That's up 40 hp and 30 lb-ft of torque from the previous model year Cayenne GTS. As a result, the 0-60 mph sprint for the Cayenne GTS runs 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 171 mph.

Naturally, the GTS gets a series of model-specific exterior trim pieces, too. Black trim, larger front air intakes, Porsche's Sport Exhaust System, and 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels are all included from the factory, no matter the trim level. Cayenne GTS Coupe models will also benefit from an adaptive rear spoiler, with a lightweight roof and carbon fiber rear diffuser also offered as part of the Lightweight Sport Package. When equipped, Porsche says this package can reduce the weight of the Cayenne GTS Coupe by up to 55 pounds.

Updated versions of the Cayenne GTS will hit dealerships by fall 2024, with a sticker price set at $126,895. Cayenne GTS Coupe units will be quite a bit more expensive, starting at $131,495. Competing with the likes of BMW's X5M and Audi's RSQ8, the updated Porsche Cayenne GTS is sure to put up a solid fight.
