The 2025 Cadillac CT5 Gets New Face, Enormous Screen
Cadillac pulled the wraps off a new-look CT5 sedan on Wednesday at the Detroit Auto Show. Cadillac's mid-sizer gets a new face with single-piece headlights that extend from fender to lower bumper, a handful of new standard safety equipment, and a massive 33-inch combination gauge cluster/infotainment screen.
It's similar to the screen setup found in the current Escalade and Lyriq EV, and it runs a new Google-powered infotainment system that brings the tech company's Maps product and voice assistant to the dashboard. It also makes the CT5 look and feel far more premium than the previous iteration, which has a relatively small central infotainment screen. Otherwise, the CT5 isn't too different from the sedan we've grown familiar with.
The new standard safety tech includes blind-spot steering assist and intersection automatic emergency braking, while a traffic-sign recognition system is optional. In addition, the optional SuperCruise hands-free driving assist system gains a new driver-attention monitor.
Powertrain choices remain the same as before. Base is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 237 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, while the upgraded engine is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 making 335 hp and 405 lb-ft. Both are paired with a 10-speed automatic, with all-wheel drive optional. Cadillac hasn't yet shown the facelifted CT5-V which uses that same 3.0-liter V-6, albeit making 360 hp, or the CT5-V Blackwing, our favorite sedan on sale now. Both are expected, however.
Already, the CT5 was one of the best-driving sort-of-small luxury sedans on the market, and these updates should hopefully put it on a technological par with the likes of the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class. Still, we're mostly just curious what Cadillac has in store for the Blackwing.
