2024 Top Workplaces honorees announced. Here are the companies that made the list.

Determining which companies are a Top Workplace can be difficult, but a good place to start is with the employees.

For the last 15 years Energage, a employee survey firm, has reached out to hundreds of companies and invited workers to take a survey and provide feedback on their workplace.

This year for the Southeastern Wisconsin Top Workplaces, 257 companies agreed to participate. Based on the results, 169 have earned the distinction of being recognized as a Top Workplace. Energage partners with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and other news organizations around the country for this effort.

More: Job turnover is lower than previous years, per survey. But there are more takeaways

To be eligible, an employer must have 50 or more workers in southeastern Wisconsin, and have 35% or more employees respond to the survey. Employers with fewer than 85 employees have a higher threshold, requiring responses from at least 30 employees.

“Being honored with a Top Workplaces award is a distinctive mark of excellence, setting companies apart in a recognizable way,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “Top Workplaces embody the highest standards, and this award, rooted in authentic employee feedback, is a point of immense pride for company leaders.”

Employers receive the Top Workplaces recognition when their employee benchmarks exceed national benchmarks. Employers are grouped by size to best compare employee experiences.

Engage has received feedback from about 30 million employees in the last 18 years. There is no cost to participate.

Energage runs tests on survey feedback and in some cases may choose to disqualify organizations, for example, if a high number of employees said they felt pressured into answering positively.
