2024 Tony Awards nominations: Which Broadway shows are eligible? When is the show?

It's been a whirlwind of a Broadway season — particularly in the last few weeks. While April always is a busy time for shows opening before the Tony Awards deadline, this year we saw 14 shows open over a three-week span.

Whew.

The cut-off deadline was Thursday, April 25, so the season officially is in the books.

And now the Tony Awards fun begins.

Thirty-six shows are eligible for this year's awards, including 21 musicals. Of those, 15 are new musicals vying for Best Musical.

The season also included non-Tony-eligible productions of Alex Edelman's "Just For Us," "El Mago Pop" and "Melissa Etheridge: My Window."
