Here is a look at the 2024 Shreveport Times All-Area high school softball team.
The team covers schools from Bienville, Claiborne, DeSoto, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine and Webster parishes based on recommendations sent by coaches.
2024 Shreveport Times All-Area Softball
Player of the Year
Mia Norwood
North DeSoto, Sr.
Why selected: The Louisiana-Lafayette signee blasted 18 home runs for the LHSAA Non-Select Division II state runners-up. Norwood hit at a .378 clip with 43 RBIs while scoring 47 runs.
Pitcher of the Year
Laney Johnson
North DeSoto, Sr.
Why selected: The Louisiana Tech signee posted a 1.47 ERA with 193 strikeouts while hitting .411 with 15 home runs. Johnson allowed just a .186 batting average by opponents.

Athlete of the Year
Avery Creech
Logansport, Sr.
Why selected: The first team All-District 3-1A pitcher and National Park College signee was 16-3 with a 2.56 ERA and 185 strikeouts. Even though Creech missed her junior season due to a knee injury, she totaled 431 career strikeouts.
Coach of the Year
Josh Foshee
Stanley
Why selected: Foshee took a team that was a sixth seed and directed them to a state runner-up finish in LHSAA Non-Select Division V. Stanley finished 21-14 in playing for senior Aubrey Hubier, who was killed in an automobile prior to the season.
First team
Bailey Adams
Cedar Creek, Sr.
Why selected: Adams hit .464 with 28 RBIs and 18 stolen bases.
Summer Brumley
Converse, Sr.
Why selected: The LSU-Alexandria signee hit .493 with 23 RBIs, 20 walks and fielded at a .986 clip.
Emery Craig
Zwolle, Sr.
Why selected: The centerfielder hit .427 with 26 RBIs.
Cali Deal
Quitman, Jr.
Why selected: The LSU commitment posted an 0.99 ERA with 218 strikeouts and was 20-3 with an LHSAA championship on her resume. She hit .440 with four home runs and 30 RBIs.
Jade Jones
Stanley, So.
Why selected: Jones hit .545 with 21 home runs, 11 doubles and 63 RBIs.
Maggie Massia
Natchitoches Central, Fr.
Why selected: Massia hit .429 with three doubles, 16 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
Mackenzie McCoy
Lakeside, Jr.
Why selected: McCoy hit .550 with 55 hits and four home runs while striking out just four times during the season.
Payton Miller
North DeSoto, Jr.
Why selected: A Georgia Tech commitment, Miller hit .448 with 11 home runs and 38 RBIs.
Avery Prine
Converse, Sr.
Why selected: The LSU-Alexandria signee hit .392 with 17 RBIs and posted a 3.164 ERA with 161 strikeouts.
Kylie Ryan
Minden, Sr.
Why selected: The Trinity Valley CC signee hit .458 with four home runs, 38 RBIs and 38 runs scored.
Vivian Still
Glenbrook, Jr.
Why selected: Still hit .421 with 12 home runs and two triples.
Maddy Stringer
North DeSoto, Jr.
Why selected: The Louisiana Tech commitment hit .449 with 17 home runs, 43 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
