2024 SEC Softball Awards list: Tennessee leads way with 8 selections, Florida's Jocelyn Erickson wins Player of the Year

Tennessee led the way with eight All-SEC selections on Friday when the conference announced its 2024 softball awards.

Florida catcher Jocelyn Erickson won player of the year, while Lady Vols' Karlyn Pickens was named pitcher of the year.

Erickson, a sophomore in her first season with the Gators after transferring from Oklahoma, finished the regular season with a .399 batting average along with 11 home runs and 70 RBIs. She also was an SEC All-Defensive Team selection.

Pickens held a 1.14 earned-runs average through 147.2 innings this season, striking out 178 batters. She held opponents to a .178 batting average and also pitched 13 complete games on the year.
