When will the 2024 NFL schedule be released? Should be within a week or two

It's one of the biggest days of the offseason.

The NFL will soon release its 2024 schedule, and fans are eagerly awaiting the date and time for the show.

While nothing has been released by the NFL so far, fans are expecting it any time. In recent years, the schedule has been released during the second week of May. It's usually held on a weeknight, typically Thursday, and for the past few years, it was released two weeks following the draft.

If the NFL continued that trend, May 9 would be the date, but if that was the case, you would think we would have heard by now. In fact, if the schedule was coming in two days, there would probably be several leaks so far.

It looks like we might have to wait another week before the schedule becomes official.

But either way, the NFL schedule release should be coming soon so fans can plan their trips.

While very little is set in stone, let's see what we know about the season.

NFL Opening Night

The NFL opens its season every year the Thursday after Labor Day. This year, that falls on Sept. 5. While it's not a lock, the NFL typically tries to have the Super Bowl winners host the game, which means the game will likely feature the Kansas City Chiefs.

Friday Night Football

The NFL is going head-to-head with high school football this year with an opening weekend game Friday, Sept. 6. The game will be played in Brazil and it will feature the Philadelphia Eagles "hosting" the Green Bay Packers. This is the only game that has been announced officially.

Other International Games

The NFL has also announced the home teams for the five international games this year. Opponents will be named when the schedule is released.

The Carolina Panthers will host a game in Munich, Germany, while the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears will eachl host games in London. The other international game is the Week 1 affair between the Eagles and Packers in Brazil.

Keep your eyes open for "leaks." According to Mike Floria of Pro Football Talk, the league allows each major network to announce a game or two a few days before the full release.
