2024 MIAA fall sports key dates for football, soccer, volleyball, field hockey & golf

Fall sports will be here before you know it. Golf and football kick off the calendar with soccer, field hockey, cross country, volleyball and swimming following shortly after.

That's a lot of sports to keep track of. Here's a helpful guide to important dates and venues, where relevant. We will update this as more information becomes available about state final dates and venues. But here are some key days to keep in mind for the MIAA 2024 fall sports season:

Field hockey

Practice start date: Monday, August 19

First available contest date: Sunday, September 1

Regular season ends/cutoff date: Sunday, October 27

Team USA bound?: Spirit, as much as skill, makes Algonquin's Lindsey Brown a top field hockey recruit

Bracket release: Tuesday, October 29

State tournament begins: Thursday, October 31

State finals: TBD

Football

Practice start date: Friday, August 16

First available contest date: Tuesday, September 3 (most games Thursday, Sept. 5 or Friday, Sept. 6)

Regular season ends/cutoff date: Sunday, November 3

Bracket release: Sunday, November 3
