The 2024 Mercedes-AMG C63 looks like a sportier version of Mercedes's venerable C-class sedan, which comes with a perfectly pedestrian 255-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a $48K base price. However, under the AMG's similar sheetmetal is a Formula 1-inspired plug-in-hybrid powertrain that pairs a hand-built 2.0-liter turbo four with an electric motor and supercharger. That combination provides 671 horsepower and 752 pound-feet of torque. It also pumps up the C's price tag, with the new C63 S E Performance starting at $85,050.
