A 2024 list of Wichita restaurants offering Mother’s Day brunches and specials

The arrival of May means that it’s almost time for Mother’s Day, one of the biggest brunch days of the year. The big day is on Sunday, May 12, and it’s time to start making your plans.

Take a look at this year’s list of Wichita restaurants preparing to welcome Mother’s Day crowds, then make your reservations. If I missed someone, email dneil@wichitaeagle.com and I can add it.

All of the below meals will be offered on Sunday, May 12, unless otherwise noted:

Brunch buffets

6S Steakhouse, 6200 W. 21st St., 316-361-6667: Offering a Mother’s Day brunch buffet served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. that’s $42 for adults and $20 for children 11 and under. The restaurant also will offer its full dinner menu from 5 to 8 p.m. Make reservations at www.6ssteakhouse.com

Chisholm’s American Beef & Ale House, inside the DoubleTree by Hilton, 2098 S. Airport Road, 316-945-1966: Buffet served from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s $44 for adults, $19.95 for children ages 11 and under. Call for reservations.

Larkspur, 904 E. Douglas, 316-262-5275: Mother’s Day buffet is $40 for adults, $20 for children ages 5-12, and free for 4 and under. Also serving $10 bloody Marys and mimosas. Seatings available at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Reservations recommended.

La Vela Event Venue, 6147 E. 13th St., 316-684-7281: The venue next to the Candle Club will offer a brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s $40 for adults, $20 for ages 9 and under. Call for reservations.

Magnolia Cafe, 2424 N. Woodlawn, 316-260-1356: Brunch buffet is served in 1 1/2-hour increments from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $29.99 for adults and $12.99 for ages 10 and under. Call for reservations.

Napoli Italian Eatery, 7718 E. 37th St. North, 316-260-5859: Mother’s Day brunch buffet is $29.99 for adults, $14.99 for children 10 and under. Seatings are at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Call for reservations.

Newport Grill, 1900 N. Rock Road, 316-636-9555: Brunch buffet will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is $45 for adults, $20 for children 5-12 and free for children 4 and under. Call for reservations.

Siena Tuscan Steakhouse, inside the Ambassador Hotel, 104 S. Broadway, 316-440-5300: Serving a brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that is $48 for adults, $18 for children ages 3 to 10. Make reservations through opentable.com or by calling the restaurant.

Stearman Field Bar & Grill, 14789 SW 30th St., Benton: Offering a breakfast buffet served from 8 a.m. to noon that’s $17.99 for adults and $10.99 for children ages 2-12. Live music from And Then There Were Two from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Sweet Spot, 8448 W. Central, 316-260-4999: Brunch buffet offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with seatings at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Price is $39.99. call for reservations.

Tanya’s Soup Kitchen, 1725 E. Douglas, 316-267-7687: Brunch buffet will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include items like herb-roasted salmon, biscuits and gravy and “brunchy salads.” One mimosa is included. It’s $35 for adults, $18.50 for ages 5-12 and free for 4 and under. Reservations are required.

Twelve, 12111 W. Maple, 316-440-2812: Serving a brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that’s $48 for adults, $16.50 for children ages 6-12. Reservations required.

Two Brothers BBQ & Sports Grill, 6730 W. Central, 316-440-4077: Barbecue and breakfast brunch buffet served 10 a.m.-2 p.m. is $25 for adults, $19 for seniors and $15 for the breakfast bar alone. Price for ages 3 to 11 is $1.75 multiplied by their age.

Vora, 3252 E. Douglas, 316-977-9277: Brunch buffet served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. includes a prime rib carving station, omelets to order and more. It’s $38 for adults and $15 for children ages 4-11.

YaYa’s Eurobistro, 8115 E. 21st St., 316-634-1000: Serving a buffet with seatings at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. It’s $40 for adults, $20 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Call for reservations.

Plated brunches

AVI, 135 N. Waco, 316-262-3300: Offering family-style meals from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. that will include beef prime rib, smoked ham, creamed potatoes, sauteed green beans, grilled basil cream corn, salad, rolls, carrot cake and chocolate cake. Price is $29 for adults, $12 for ages 9 and under. Kids will get homemade chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and fries. Call for reservations or email info@aviwichita.com

The Belmont, 3555 E. Douglas. 316-477-3555: Serving plated brunch menu from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The restaurant will remain open until 9 p.m., and happy hour runs all day on Sundays.

Chicken N Pickle, 1240 N. Greenwich, 316-535-7150: This restaurant and pickleball venue will serve Mother’s Day brunch specials and a mimosa bar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Doo-Dah Diner, 206 E. Kellogg, 316-265-7011: The diner this year will be offering “epic level specials” on Mother’s Day and will accept reservations.

Fiorito Ristorante, 3134 E Douglas, 316-364-4707: Open for brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offering specials like truffled egg salad on milk bread with avocado, and candied bacon Benedict with lemon cream cheese hollandaise. Also offering cocktail specials. Call for reservations.

First Mile Kitchen, 2141 N. Bradley Fair Parkway, 316-358-0130: Offering a special brunch menu served from 9 a.m. to 3. p.m. featuring First Mile favorite brunch items and several specials. Also open for Mother’s Day dinner from 3 to 9 p.m., when the full dinner menu will be available along with some Mother’s Day specials.

Georges French Bistro, 4618 E. Central, 316-831-1325: Serving Mother’s Day brunch from a special menu from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations recommended on OpenTable or by phone.

Itzcali Tapas and Tequila, 2819 E. Central, 316-358-9955: Open for brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call for reservations.

Larcher’s Market, 3555 E. Douglas, 316-682-5575: Serving brunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mother’s Day gift items will be for sale in the market’s “to-go” area as well.

Lima Nation Peruvian Kitchen, 2146 N. Collective Lane, 316-719-6866: A Mother’s Day meal that includes an appetizer, entree, dessert and a Prosecco toast or mimosa is $58 a person. Group packages also are available. It’s offered from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mother’s Day: Sunday, May 12. The same deal is available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. Public at the Brickyard, 129 N. Rock Island, 316-263-4044: Open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and serving steak and eggs, salmon Benedict, and chicken waffles as brunch specials. Sterling Gray will perform on the patio. Reservations recommended.

Scotch & Sirloin, 5325 E. Kellogg, 316-685-8701: Offering a plated Mother’s Day menu from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. that’s $65 a person and includes choice of shareable appetizer, choice of salad and choice of entree, with offerings like filet mignon, prime rib and Scottish salmon. Drink specials also will be available.

Alzavino Wine Tavern, 1001 W. Douglas Ave: This Delano wine bar will celebrate Mother’s Day from 3 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, by offering 20% off all bottles of sparkling wine.

Bramble Cafe at Elderslie Farm, 3501 E. 101st St. North, Kechi, 316-226-8862: On Saturday, May 11, mimosas and sangria will be half off from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in honor of Mother’s day.

Chester’s Chophouse, 1550 N. Webb Road, 316-201-1300: This restaurant will open for Mother’s Day dinner and will offer a special menu. Hours are 4:30 to 9 p.m. Reservations recommended on OpenTable or by phone.

Jimmie’s Diner, 3111 N. Rock Road, 1519 George Washington Drive: Moms get free ice cream sundaes from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Poppie’s Cafe, 9111 E. Douglas, 316-519-1339: This vegan cafe is offering high tea for moms from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. It features cucumber sandwiches, hummus sandwiches, scones with jam and lemon curd and more. Reservations are required by phone.

The French Tearoom, 3210 Victor Place, 316-778-0787: This reservation-only tea room is putting on a series of events called “Mother’s Day, The French Way.” Tickets are available from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 10; from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 11; and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, 2661 N. Maize Road, 316-910-4200: Mom’s get a free dessert on Mother’s Day and can choose from doughnut bread pudding, a warm cookie sundae or beignet bites. No purchase necessary.
