2024 concert series line-up announced

May 18—GREENSBURG — A diverse range of national, regional and area talent will be featured this summer as part of the free admission seven-show 2024 Greensburg Decatur County Summer Concert Series at the Rebekah Park Amphitheater.

Midnight Rider, a tribute to the Allman Brothers Band, will open the series at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 15. The music is presented the way the Allman Brothers would have wanted it done.

Johnny Folsom 4 — Tribute to Johnny Cash continues the series Friday, June 28. From "A Boy Named Sue" to "Ring of Fire" to "Rusty Cage," Johnny Folsom 4 is the ultimate tribute to the legendary man in black. While nobody really sounds like Johnny Cash, nobody sounds more like Johnny Cash than Johnny Folsom 4.

Friday, July 19 will see the Thurston Howell Band: Your Premiere Yacht Rock Spectacular. These seasoned musicians weave soaring melodies, lush harmonies and irresistibly tight grooves into favorite yacht rock classics from Toto, Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, and Christopher Cross, to name a few.

Saturday, Aug. 24, the Gordon Bonham Blues Band will perform music from the Mississippi Delta to the back alleys of Chicago, from big Texas shuffles to West Coast swings. Bonham has performed with Pinetop Perkins and worked with Bo Diddley and Matt "Guitar" Murphy and has also opened for such greats as Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Solomon Burke and B.B. King.

To conclude the series, Rearview — Tribute to Pearl Jam will play Saturday, Sept. 28. With five members who have combined stage experience of more than 40 years, the Pearl Jam Tribute is the next best thing to the real thing.

"The 2024 Rebekah Park concert series will bring an exciting mix of shows to our great city this summer," Greensburg Mayor Joshua Marsh said. "We look forward to hosting the series and entertaining concertgoers from near and far all season long."

After the opening show on June 15, all other shows start at 7 p.m.

Each concert will also feature an opening act including Matt Scheurman (lead singer of 650 North) June 15 and Sept. 28 and Kit Haymond July 19 and Aug. 24.
