SEE IT: Splash Mountain boat submerges as Disney World staffer allegedly tells riders they should’ve remained in it

A Twitter user claims a boat on the Splash Mountain ride at Disney World became submerged in water during a recent outing.

The user, whose Twitter handle is @skyelaringrsoll, wrote Sunday that guests stepped out of the ride once it started sinking, and that an employee at the theme park in Florida allegedly told them they “should’ve stayed in the boat.”

“So we got out of our boat because it was sinking while we were stuck there and the disney world employee decided to tell us that we should’ve stayed in the boat but it went under as soon as we all stepped out,” the tweet reads.

The tweet includes a 6-second video showing the empty boat under water.

In the short clip, someone says, “Do you see the boat?”

Another person is then heard responding, “I understand that, but this is a safety (matter).”

A different Twitter user, Karen Ramirez, wrote she and her boyfriend were also seated in the boat, and shared a photo showing it underwater.

Splash Mountain is located at the Magic Kingdom theme park at the Disney World resort near Orlando. The ride launched in 1992.

A representative for Disney World did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
