If you’ve never shopped the Brooklyn-based home goods store before, West Elm is part of the Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma and Rejuvenation family under Williams-Sonoma, Inc. However, it stands out by selling the parent company’s most modern pieces and decor with simple, clean designs.
Some of its signature styles include structured (albeit comfy) sofas and color-blocked throw pillows. Plus, all of its items are also guaranteed Fair Trade, with 50 percent of wood sustainably sourced, and 65 percent of goods made in the U.S.
Nonetheless, West Elm isn’t known for selling the most affordable items, and compared to custom furniture and high-end designers, not the most expensive, either. If you’re in the market to shop for home goods, it’s worth taking a look at its online store and with most things on sale, you’ll probably find something (or a few things) to add to your cart.
West Elm’s end-of-season sale offers up to 75 percent off of rugs, up to 70 percent off of bedding, up to 75 percent off of curtains, up to 60 percent off home decor, up to 60 percent off of candles and more. Of course, being that most things are “up to” means that not everything is marked down 75 percent off. Combing through the site, however, it seems that most items are between 40 and 60 percent off.
So, take a look at West Elm if you want to add a few chairs to the patio, upgrade your desk for working from home or toss a tie-dye throw blanket on your couch for a pop of color.
