Ryan Tedder confirms he worked on Lady Gaga's 'Chromatica' song with Elton John: 'A unicorn song'

Lady Gaga’s first full new album since “Joanne” in 2016 will finally be released this Friday, May 29, over a month after its original release date, on the heels of two monstrous singles, “Stupid Love” and “Rain On Me,” which, of course, feature Ariana Grande.

Naturally, Gaga’s fans, otherwise known as the Little Monsters, have been digging for clues about what else they can expect from the dance-pop album, successfully putting together a list of suspected or confirmed producers and collaborators that Gaga enlisted for her latest effort.

Among the impressive list? Ryan Tedder, the frontman for OneRepublic who is also one of the most in-demand songwriters and producers in the music industry, having penned hits for Taylor Swift, Adele, Beyoncé and more.

During a recent interview with In The Know’s Gibson Johns, the Grammy winner confirmed what the Little Monsters had already put together on Twitter: That he worked on track 14 of “Chromatica,” which is called “Sine From Above” and features Sir Elton John.

When discussing his foiled plans for Coachella this year, Tedder said that “she was going to be there” for a previously-revealed secret set, alluding that he was involved with the performance due to his inclusion on her album.

“I worked on Lady Gaga’s album,” he said. “I did the song with Elton, featuring Elton John.”

In a previous interview with Official Charts, Tedder had discussed his work on Gaga’s album without revealing which song it was, sharing that “the song I was lucky enough to be apart of is a true unicorn song. It’s a bucket list for me and when it comes out, you’ll understand why.”

The “Chasing Stars” hitmaker also revealed that, despite social distancing mandates preventing him from working in person with some of his all-star collaborators, he’s been holding virtual songwriting and recording sessions with some major Top 40 talent that has been going “phenomenally” well.

“We all talked ourselves into thinking it couldn’t work. I’ve had sessions with— I finished the ‘Songland’ series with Julia Michaels and Ben Platt. I’ve been in sessions with Ariana [Grande], I’ve had sessions with the Jonas Brothers, with Lady Antebellum,” he told ITK. “The artists I know that have the capability to record stuff, they’re crushing it. Look how Justin Bieber and Ariana [did it with ‘Stuck with U’] — neither of them are in a studio. They’ve got their stuff set up, and she’s got her stuff in her apartment.”

Safe to say, we should be expecting a lot of greatness coming out of quarantine from Ryan Tedder.
