How Yris Palmer and Kylie Jenner became best friends: 'She inspires me'

How exactly does someone become one of Kylie Jenner‘s best friends?

Well, in the case of Yris Palmer, it happened totally by chance: The Star Lash Extensions founder met the youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan while “doing her lashes” six years ago.

“About six years ago, I started doing her lashes, and her whole family, they’re just very, very sweet,” Palmer told In The Know during a recent interview with Gibson Johns. “Slowly but surely we started building a relationship, and over every year it’s just gotten stronger and stronger.”

Yris is one of Kylie’s friends who is most prominently featured on her highly-followed social media accounts: She, along with Victoria Villarroel and Anastasia “Stassie” Karanikolaou, were the three selected to be in the former “Life of Kylie” star’s recent “Who’s Most Likely To… with my BFFs” YouTube video.

The close-knit pals certainly have a lot in common: Both of them run their own successful businesses, both of them have large followings and both are mothers to young girls — Palmer has a 3-year-old daughter named Ayla, and Kylie, of course, is mother to 2-year-old Stormi Webster.

“She is definitely somebody that I am very comfortable to pick up the phone and ask about anything,” Palmer said. “Or even my products, sending [them to] her for her to see them, test them. And, likewise, if she has something coming out, she’ll give me a sample of her Kylie mask, and she’ll be like, ‘What do you think of this?'”

“It’s very refreshing. We really support each other, and I think that is important in any friendship and relationship. And, obviously, her family and her, they’re super successful. So I learn a lot [from them],” she went on. “She inspires me a lot. She’s a young billionaire, a hustler. It’s very, very inspirational to watch and to see how she never stops and she just keeps going. It’s important to keep people like that around you because they just inspire you and drive you so much more.”

“She had her daughter, and I had my daughter, and we have a really beautiful friendship,” Palmer added. “Our girls are friends.”

An added bonus of being in Kylie’s inner circle? Her millions and millions of fans (she currently has 176 million Instagram followers) also show Palmer support and many have also become fans of her in her own right.

“Let me say something: Her fan base is insane!” she laughed. “It’s insane, and they really support her and her friends. I definitely feel the love, and I’m grateful for it.”
