According to the American Sleep Association, between 50 million and 70 million adults in the U.S. have a sleep disorder. While those disorders can be anything from insomnia to sleep apnea, the bottom line is that a lot of us aren’t sleeping very well.
So, whether your sleep problems are due to recent stress or you’ve dealt with them for some time now, you aren’t alone.
Luckily, there are a few things you can do on your own to help improve your sleep. For starters, Healthline suggests a few easy tweaks that you can make in your everyday life. Their list includes buying a pair of blue light glasses to wear in the evening (to reduce your exposure to the light from your electronics that may keep you up), limiting your caffeine intake late in the day and developing a sleep schedule that you can stick to.
Healthline also suggests “optimizing” your bedroom. From tweaking your room’s temperature to optimizing your furniture set-up, there are a couple of things you can do to make your bedroom the ultimate oasis. After all, shouldn’t your bedroom be a place that relaxes you and somewhere that you like spending time in?
Whether you want to upgrade your bedding (it’s no fun sleeping on a worn-out pillow) or you need a little assistance winding down at night, keep scrolling to find over 10 of our sleep essentials.
