One of my favorite ingredients in my skincare routine is glycolic acid. You may be wondering how someone can have a favorite ingredient, but if you knew the powers of glycolic acid and what it could do for the skin, you’d definitely agree with me. Thankfully, there’s a highly-rated toner on Amazon with the sought-after ingredient and the best part is that it’s under $20.

The Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid toner helps soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles while simultaneously brightening the skin and helping fix uneven skin tone and texture. But, how? Due to glycolic acid — which exfoliates the skin for refinement — in its formulation, the product is said to help accelerate skin cell turnover to reveal younger-looking skin.

Even though glycolic acid is fairly simple to use and great for multiple skin types, you may still feel a bit leery of skin irritation. To combat reactions, the product contains aloe vera, which helps soothe inflamed and sensitive skin.

People on Amazon who’ve bought the product did not hold back on their admiration for its effects. With a 4.5-star rating, it’s pretty easy to see that the toner is a fan favorite.

“My 14-year-old daughter uses this right after she washes her face. This has kept her acne under control. My family and I have been using this product for quite some time now and continue to repurchase,” wrote one reviewer.

Another reviewer shared how they use the product on their body instead of the face, but the results are equally amazing. They wrote, “This product helps keep my body acne away and also evens out my complexion in my skin! After a year of using this, my hyperpigmentation on my body has faded tremendously.”

Of course, no product is without its faults and some customers noted that using it too often caused flakiness on the skin.” It dried my skin out, however, and made my skin flake tremendously,” one reviewer wrote. “I’m aware that some people are actually looking for this side effect because of the exfoliation, which is why it has glycolic acid in it, but I didn’t like that.”

If you’re hesitant, you can conduct a patch test before using it. Also spacing the product out to only a few times a week, in addition to opting for a great moisturizer after washing, can reduce extremely dry skin.
