Natty Light will host a commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020

Natural Light — or, colloquially known as, “Natty Light” — wants to give back to the Class of 2020, probably as a big thank you to all the money college students have spent buying 12-packs over the years.

As colleges across the U.S. have been forced to shut down traditional graduation ceremonies because of the pandemic, Natty Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch wanted to put on something special for the graduating class.

On May 14, through Facebook Live, the beer company will be hosting its Worldwide Commencement ceremony with a slew of guest speakers, including comedian Adam Devine, ESPN host Stephen A. Smith, “Shark Tank”‘s Mark Cuban, Jane Lynch, Ludacris, actress Amanda Cerny and CEO of Barstool Sports, Erika Nardini.

The one-of-a-kind ceremony hopes to celebrate and honor as many students as possible from around the country.

“The public health crisis has had a massive impact on college students, including forcing the cancellation of many on-campus graduations. We’re a brand known for celebrating milestones with our fans — and commencement is normally one of those major moments,” said Daniel Blake, Vice President of U.S. Value Brands at Anheuser-Busch, in the company’s press release of the event.

“I think actually, with our commencement ceremony, we add a little bit more fun than what they’re used to,” Blake told In The Know. “We’re hoping to bring some inspiring words, but most importantly, we want to have some fun with our graduates.”

Natural Light is also offering up the chance for one fan to win beer for a year. It can be a graduating senior or anyone who supports the commencement, just head to Twitter and use #NattyCommencement and #Sweepstake to enter.

The event will kick off on May 14 at 7 p.m. ET on Natty Light’s Facebook page. No purchase or cap and gown are necessary to tune in.
