You could get paid $1,000 to watch every ‘Harry Potter’ movie back-to-back — here’s how to apply

Potterheads, how much free time do you really have these days?

If the answer to that question is “at least 25 hours” then you’re in luck — and you might be able to win some money while you’re at it.

That’s because the college-ranking website EDsmart is offering $1,000 for one lucky “Harry Potter” fan to watch every film in the franchise from start to finish. The task, which will take exactly 1,446 minutes, includes all eight movies in the original series, plus the two “Fantastic Beasts” films.

When you do the math, the 25-hour nonstop watch pays approximately $41.50 per hour, but that’s not including bonuses. EDsmart is also offering around $200 in Potter-themed treats — including a $100 GrubHub gift card, some butterbeer and plenty of candy to get you through the marathon — as well as Blu-ray discs of each movie, according to Insider.

To apply, you just have to be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the U.S. Beyond that, EDsmart is looking for “an active social media user,” as you’ll be asked to give live updates throughout your experience.

“The person we’re looking for is not only a ‘Harry Potter’ fan, but also an active, outgoing social media personality who would be thrilled to live-tweet or live stream their ‘Harry Potter‘ & ‘Fantastic Beasts’ movie marathon experience while tagging @getedsmart and/or #getedsmart,” the company’s website reads.

Applications are open through Edsmart’s website until May 15. All it takes to apply is submitting some personal information, a description of your most prominent social media account and a short, 200-word essay on why you’re the best candidate for the job.

Then, the website will announce the winner within a week of the deadline. It’s not exactly as exciting as getting a Hogwarts letter on your 11th birthday, but it’s about as close as the real world gets.
