Chrissy Teigen officiates wedding for daughter’s stuffed animals: 'It’s a good day for a wedding'

Chrissy Teigen found a new way to bond with her daughter Luna as the two, along with husband and father John Legend, continue to live in self-isolation.

Last Saturday, the model and television personality announced on Twitter that she would a hosting a wedding between Luna’s stuffed bunny and stuffed lamb.

“Planning a wedding for tomorrow between a stuffed bunny and stuffed lamb,” she tweeted. “Their song is ‘can’t keep my hands to myself’ and food will be peanut butter on little spoons.”

Not one to disappoint, the next day, Teigen live-streamed the ceremony, which took place outdoors, on Instagram.

“People are slowly trickling in for the wedding of the century,” she says at the beginning of the stream. “We’re excited. It’s a beautiful day out. It’s a good day for a wedding. I don’t know how many of you have been to a wedding between two stuffed animals, but what I found is that they are everlasting.”

Luna is then seen crawling down a makeshift wedding aisle with her two stuffed animals — Chloe and Nosh —as wedding music plays in the background. As the animals come to a stop, Teigen jumps into her role as the officiator.

“Thank you for gathering here today, on this very special day,” she says. “The sun is high. It’s a beautiful day, well-deserved in what has become 26 weeks of an incredible relationship. Who dare gives this lamb and sheep away … or rabbit?”

Luna responds with “I do,” to which Teigen lovingly recalls the stuffed animals’ relationship. Later on, as the ceremony continues, Legend breaks out into a rendition of Selena Gomez’s “Can’t Keep My Hands to Myself” before Luna mixes two cups of sand together to mark her stuffed animals’ union.

The ceremony has since gone viral on Instagram, receiving nearly 4 million views and a flood of supportive comments.

“If you’re a mommy, you’ve been to the marriage of 2 stuffed animals,” one person joked.

“Getting us all through this quarantine one stuffed animal wedding at a time,” another wrote. “You’re doing God’s work.”
