There are few things more frustrating than frayed cables. Whether it be the unnecessary unplanned expense they cause or the inopportune times that they always seem to create, splitting charging cables is a headache that we can’t seem to escape.

While some people resort to electrical tape to temporarily fix the problem when that first tiny wire begins to show signs of escaping, it’s best to find a more long-term solution and reviewers seem to have found it in these tiny Cable Bites from Urban Outfitters.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how adorable these are?

OK — Now that that’s over, let’s get into the design and unique form factor of these little guys.

Described to “reinforce all your charging cables,” this little animal accessory basically does as its name suggests: bites your cable at the would-be point of fraying. The tiny gadget simply clips around the cable to prevent breakage, keeping it straight at all times at the end where wear and tear takes place the most.

It’s made of ATBC and PVC and can be simply wiped clean if it gets dirty over time. Shoppers can choose from 11 different animals, including a panda, a dog, a cat, a whale, a shark, a polar bear and more.

Boasting an overall rating of 4.8 stars and a 98 percent recommendation rate on Urban Outfitters, these little critters have hundreds of fans.

One five-star reviewer described the product as a “total lifesaver,” writing, “I often go through phone chargers because the part where I plug it in always bends and starts to fray… It stays right in place and my charger is fully protected from breaking!”

Another reviewer added that she’s had hers “for almost a year and my cable has not ripped.”

One gripe a shopper pointed out is that her bite would move up from time to time, forcing her to “have to push it down.” She added, however, that, “in general,” the product is “very useful and worth using.”

Shoppers can currently get one Cable Bite for just $4 — $2 off its original price — or two for $8!
