These adaptive utensils are as chic and stylish as they are practical. Cutlery brand Amefa created the adaptive utensils for people with disabilities and older people who have dexterity issues which makes using typical cutlery next to impossible.

The utensils are made of stainless steel, similar to typical cutlery. The large, bulbous handle is ideal for those with dexterity issues. The design makes the utensils easy to hold and maneuver, fitting against the palm of the hand. But a flat bottom makes it so the utensil won’t roll away when on the table.

The knife is also designed to make it easier to apply pressure when cutting food. In another adaptation, the fork is somewhat flat, allowing the user to scrape food onto it. This improves upon the stabbing motion needed to use a traditional fork.

“I have issues with weakness in my left hand, my dominant hand,” one reviewer writes. “This makes eating so much easier and much more stable.”
