Arizona woman goes missing on vacation in Belize

A 43-year-old Arizona mother of two has been reported missing while on vacation with her boyfriend in Belize.

Alison MacKenzie went missing Saturday morning on a catamaran tour where she was camping on a small island called Rendezvous Caye, according to the Prescott Daily Courier.

Her boyfriend, 58-year-old Paige Rote, said he went to bed Friday night and then, when he woke up, couldn’t find her.

MacKenzie’s mother, Cherie, said that she was working with the Belize police, the American Embassy and the catamaran tour company to try to find her daughter, but that she keeps getting different stories, “none of them consistent with the others.”

“We are getting no where finding out where she is,” Cherie wrote on Facebook. “I want her home with us, no matter how she may be found. I want my daughter back.”

A spokesperson for Raggamuffin Tours Limited told Breaking Belize News that the company is cooperating with law enforcement and providing “comprehensive details” of all passengers and crew members.

“Wе assure (the family) that wе wіll continue dо аll іn our роwеr tо аѕѕіѕt lаw еnfоrсеmеnt іn thеіr іnvеѕtіgаtіоn іntо hеr dіѕарреаrаnсе,” thе ѕtаtеmеnt ѕаіd.
