Snickers bar weighing 4,700 pounds is world’s largest, says Guinness

Snickers bigwigs just went nuts.

On Thursday in Waco, Texas, confectioner Mars, Inc. unveiled the largest Snickers bar ever created.

Tipping the scales at a gargantuan 4,700 pounds and measuring two feet high and 26 inches wide, the Guinness Book of World Records declared it a world champ.

“This is incredibly impressive,” Guinesses judge Michael Empiric told Waco TV station KWKT. “Some of my favorite record categories are big food because it has to be edible and it is also an engineering feat, so to get a 5,000-pound bar of chocolate to stay together is really challenging.”

The colossal chocolate creation is the size of 43,000 single-size Snickers bars put together, according to KWKT, and reportedly took one week to complete.

“This bar that we made in the last week absolutely is the (sum) of, I think, what you could call, ‘Everything is bigger in Texas.’ Because it’s the biggest Snickers bar ever made,” said Snickers value manager Ruud Engbers. “It’s the largest chocolate nut bar ever made in the world.”

Mars hinted on Friday that the sweet treat could make an appearance in a Super Bowl Snickers commercial.

Sadly, this edible delight isn’t for everybody, just Snickers employees. The Texas plant plans to dole out pieces of the massive bar to Mars workers across the country, reported CNN.
